Why our prices are lower — not our quality

Cheaper than an agency doesn't mean cheaper than it should be. Here's exactly where the savings come from.

Lean, focused team

No account managers, no project coordinators, no office overhead — you work directly with the team building your site.

Modern stack, not bloated WordPress

We build on React and TanStack — faster sites, better Google scores, fewer plugins to patch every month.

We re-use our own A.S.T.R.A stack

Chatbot, forms, CMS, lead capture — already built and battle-tested, so you don't pay custom-dev rates for solved problems.

No reseller markup

Bigger agencies often resell hosting, design and dev at 2–3x. We don't. What you pay is what the work costs.

All add-ons are optional and quoted up-front. Per-unit items are priced per page, item or section as noted.

What changes the price?

Number of pages

A 4-page site costs less than a 10-page site. We scope this up-front so there are no surprises.

Custom features

Bookings, member areas, calculators, multi-language, integrations — each adds design and dev time.

Content & copy

If you supply text and images, the build is faster. Need help? Copywriting is quoted per page.

E-commerce complexity

Number of products, variants, shipping rules, and gateways all influence the final figure.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a website cost in South Africa?+

It depends on who builds it. A 2026 survey of 56 South African agencies puts the average 5-page website at about R6,633 — but that's the budget/template tier. For a quality custom small-business site you should expect R15,000–R35,000, with around R16,000 being a fair mid-market figure. Mid-size agencies typically quote R40,000–R150,000 for the same brief, and enterprise web apps run from R150,000 up past R1 million.

Why are you cheaper than most South African agencies?+

We run a lean, focused team rather than a 20-person agency. There are no account managers, no resold hosting markups, and we build on modern React stacks that don't need a small army of plugins to maintain. We also reuse our own A.S.T.R.A toolkit for chatbots, forms and CMS — so you're not paying custom-dev rates for problems we've already solved. The deliverable is the same quality; the invoice is smaller.

Why not just use Wix or a R1,500 template?+

Templates work for very simple sites, but they're slow, generic and a pain to change later. The SA budget-tier average is around R6,633, and most clients end up rebuilding within 12–18 months. A custom site loads faster, ranks better on Google, fits your brand and grows with your business — which usually pays for itself within a few new customers.

Do I pay a deposit?+

Yes — we take a 50% deposit to start, and the balance is due on launch. For larger projects we split into three milestone payments.

Are there ongoing costs?+

Plan for hosting and a domain (roughly R150–R350/month combined) and an optional care plan if you want us to handle updates, backups and small tweaks. The SA market average for hosting is about R107/month at the budget end and R300–R550/month for quality hosting. A.S.T.R.A is billed separately if you add it.

Do you do payment plans?+

For larger Business and E-commerce builds we offer split payments over 2–4 months — chat to us in your quote.
